The short version
- What it is
- Pulls the same revenue numbers from Stripe every Monday and posts them to Slack with each change explained.
- Works with
- Stripe, Slack
- How often
- Mondays at 8am, once you switch it on.
- What it never does
- Change a subscription, invoice, customer or payment.
- What you need
- A Toolspoke account, with Stripe and Slack connected.
How it works
What each run does, from the "The five numbers" part of its own instructions.
- Step 1:
Monthly recurring revenue the sum of active subscriptions, each converted to a monthly amount. Annual plans count as one twelfth. Trials and paused subscriptions count as zero.
- Step 2:
New revenue recurring revenue from subscriptions that started in the week.
- Step 3:
Lost revenue recurring revenue from subscriptions that were cancelled or ended in the week, and from downgrades.
- Step 4:
Failed payments the count and value of invoices that failed and are still unpaid.
- Step 5:
Refunds the total refunded in the week.
What you get
How the agent's own instructions describe what it hands back. Install it to see a real result.
Refunds the total refunded in the week.
Use the last full week, Monday to Sunday, in the account's timezone. Use the same definitions every week. If you change one, say so at the top of the post and why.
Integrations & requirements
Weekly revenue update needs Stripe and Slack to work. You sign in to each one yourself.
Stripe
RequiredInspect customers, payments, subscriptions, and invoices.
Authentication: Secret key
Slack
RequiredSearch conversations and send messages to your workspace.
Authentication: Bot token
Skills it follows
| Tool | Actions it offers |
|---|---|
| Stripe | 14 in all: 13 read, 1 write, 0 destructive. Nothing that deletes or permanently changes anything. |
| Slack | 11 in all: 7 read, 4 write, 0 destructive. Nothing that deletes or permanently changes anything. |
A project can switch any action off, and every call is logged. The counts are what each tool offers; which of them the agent uses is up to its instructions.
What it will never do
- Change a subscription, invoice, customer or payment.
- Round in a way that changes the story.
- Post customer emails or card details.
If something goes wrong
If a number cannot be computed, say which one and why, and post the rest. Do not fill the gap with last week's figure.
These are written into Weekly revenue update's instructions. They guide the agent, but they are not a permission. What it is allowed to touch is set by the access you grant.
When it runs
Weekly revenue update runs mondays at 8am by default. Its routine arrives switched off. Turn it on when you are ready: every run costs your workspace money.
Use the last full week, Monday to Sunday, in the account's timezone. Use the same definitions every week. If you change one, say so at the top of the post and why.
Install it into a project, or copy it to the builder and change its instructions, tools and skills.
