What Email campaign report does
Email campaign report is an AI agent that reads last week's Klaviyo campaigns and flows every Monday and posts one Slack message with the results, compared with the four weeks before.
Klaviyo has every number, but a weekly email review usually means opening each campaign, copying its figures into a sheet and working out whether they are good. Without a baseline, a 2% click rate means nothing.
Deliverability problems hide in the same numbers. A rise in spam complaints or bounces on one send is easy to miss, and by the time open rates collapse across the account the damage is done.
Email campaign report reads Klaviyo's totals for last week and the four weeks before, works out the rates for each campaign and flow, and marks anything that moved by a quarter or more. Warning signs for deliverability go at the top.
In practice, every Monday morning you get one message:
- Deliverability warning signs first, if there are any
- Last week's totals against the four-week average
- Each campaign with open, click and conversion rates and attributed revenue
- The top five flows by revenue
How it works
Email campaign report works in four steps each Monday: it finds last week's campaigns and live flows, counts the results, compares them with the four weeks before and posts one message. All of it comes from the agent's written instructions, which you can read and edit after you install it.

Step 1: Find the sends
Campaigns sent last week and flows that are live.

Step 2: Count the results
Totals per campaign and flow for each email metric.
Step 3: Compare and check
Rates against the four-week average, and deliverability warning signs.
Step 4: Post one message
Warnings first, then totals, then campaigns and flows.
It counts, it does not list people
Results come from query_metric_aggregates, grouped by message for campaigns and by flow for flows. Klaviyo returns totals, not a row per subscriber, so the agent never needs to read a profile.
It compares with a baseline
Each rate is set against the weekly average of the four weeks before, and anything that moved by a quarter or more either way is marked. One good or bad week stands out against the usual.
It watches for deliverability trouble
Spam complaints at or above 0.1%, bounces at or above 2%, unsubscribes at or above 0.5% on one campaign, or opens down by a third across the account. These go first, because they affect every send that follows.
It is honest about opens and revenue
Mail privacy features inflate opens, and the post says so once. Revenue is what Klaviyo attributes to an email, not proof the email caused it. The limits are listed under what it will never do.
What a Monday message looks like
A message from Email campaign report is a single Slack post. Any deliverability warning comes first, then the week's totals against the average, then each campaign and the top flows.

Week of 13 to 19 Oct against the four weeks before. Opens are inflated by mail privacy features. Revenue is Klaviyo attributed.
Warning signs (1)
- New arrivals: knitwear had spam complaints of 0.14% (18 of 12,900), above 0.1%. It went to the full list, including people who have not opened in 6 months.
Campaigns (3)
- Autumn sale: 20% off: 24,100 received, opened 41%, clicked 3.9% (up 28% on average), converted 1.1%, 3,610 attributed.
- New arrivals: knitwear: 12,900 received, opened 33%, clicked 1.4%, converted 0.4%, 820 attributed, unsubscribes 0.6%.
- Style notes, issue 12: 9,800 received, opened 38%, clicked 2.2%, 390 attributed.
Top flows
Abandoned cart 2,140, Welcome series 1,260, Browse abandonment 610. All within a quarter of the average.
- Warning signs
Spam complaints, bounces or unsubscribes above the thresholds, or opens down sharply across the account.
- Campaigns
Each campaign sent last week, with its rates, attributed revenue and anything that moved by a quarter or more.
- Flows
The five flows that attributed the most revenue, and whether they are in line with the usual.
What happens on a quiet week
If no campaign went out, the agent still reports the flows and says no campaigns were sent. Flows run every week, so there is always something to report.
If Klaviyo cannot be read, it posts that once and stops, so a missing report is never mistaken for a quiet week.
Who uses Email campaign report
Email campaign report suits any business that sends email through Klaviyo and reviews it weekly. The examples use made-up names.
An ecommerce marketer
Sofia Marin sends three campaigns a week for a clothing shop. She used to build the Monday review by hand. Now it is waiting in Slack.
A founder watching revenue
Daniel Kim wants to know how much email brings in without opening Klaviyo. The totals and top flows tell him in one glance.
A retention lead guarding deliverability
Yasmin Farah looks for spam complaints before they hurt the sender reputation. A warning at the top of the post means she sees it on Monday, not after the next send.
An agency reporting to clients
Luca Bianchi runs email for several shops. A copy per client posts to each client's shared channel, so the weekly numbers arrive without a report to write.
What Email campaign report connects to
Email campaign report connects to two tools: it reads Klaviyo and posts to Slack. You connect each one yourself, and Toolspoke stores the connection encrypted, so the agent never sees the credential.

| Tool | What Email campaign report does | What it cannot do |
|---|---|---|
| Klaviyo | Reads campaigns, flows, metrics and their totals (list_campaigns, get_campaign, list_flows, list_metrics, query_metric_aggregates). | Send, schedule or cancel a campaign, change a flow, or add anyone to a list: the connector has no action for any of these. It can create or update a profile, which this agent's instructions forbid. |
| Slack | Posts one message with send_message, to a channel. | Delete messages: the connector has no delete action. It can also edit, schedule and react, and the agent is told to do none of them. |
The Klaviyo connection cannot send an email, which is a property of the connector. The one write it has is creating or updating a profile, and the agent is told not to. If you want a lock, switch off create_or_update_profile in your project, or create a Klaviyo private key with read access only. The access control guide explains how.
The Klaviyo connector can read profiles, but this agent reads only totals. It is told never to post an email address, a name or any profile detail to Slack.
What Email campaign report will never do
Email campaign report is told never to send a campaign, change a flow, edit a profile or a list, or post anything about an individual subscriber. It reads totals and reports them.
- Send, schedule or cancel a campaign, or change a flow.
- Create, update or suppress a profile, or add or remove anyone from a list or segment.
- Post an email address, a subscriber's name or any profile detail to Slack.
- Call revenue "caused" by an email.
Why it does not send anything
An email sent cannot be taken back, and it reaches every customer on the list. The Klaviyo connection has no send action, so a campaign cannot go out through this agent.
What it keeps out of Slack
The report is about campaigns, not people. Counts and rates are enough to judge a send.
Why it says attributed, not caused
Klaviyo credits revenue to an email when someone ordered within its attribution window. Some of those people would have bought anyway. The post says attributed revenue, so nobody reads it as proof.
If something goes wrong
If Klaviyo cannot be read, post that once and stop. If no campaign was sent last week, report the flows and say no campaigns went out. If a metric has no data, leave its column out and say which.
These are written into Email campaign report's instructions. They guide the agent, but they are not a permission. What it is allowed to touch is set by the access you grant.
Email campaign report reads Klaviyo and reports what it finds. Every send, and every change to a list or a profile, stays with a person.
When Email campaign report runs
Email campaign report runs on Mondays at 9am, but only after you switch its schedule on. It arrives switched off, so nothing runs and nothing is charged until you decide.
- Each run reads last week, Monday to Sunday, and the four weeks before.
- Warning signs for deliverability are listed first.
- Flows are reported even when no campaign went out.
- If Klaviyo cannot be read, it posts that once.
Each run uses model credit from your workspace balance, so it makes one run a week. An account with many campaigns costs a little more, because there is more to read. The Klaviyo and Slack calls themselves are free.
Your copy is an ordinary agent in your project. You can pause its schedule there, run it once on demand, change the day and time and edit its instructions. The agent's page lists recent runs and their cost.
How to set up Email campaign report
To get a weekly email report, add Email campaign report to a Toolspoke project, connect Klaviyo and Slack, choose the channel and switch on the schedule. It takes a few minutes, and nothing runs until the last step.
Step 1: Create a Toolspoke account or sign in
Choose Use this agent. If you are new, you will be asked to sign up first, and you come straight back to this agent afterwards.
Step 2: Add it to a project
Pick the project it should live in. You get your own editable copy, and you can see the two tools it brings before anything connects.
Step 3: Connect Klaviyo
Create a private API key in Klaviyo with read access to campaigns, flows and metrics, and paste it. It is stored encrypted and the agent never sees it.
Step 4: Connect Slack
Choose Sign in with Slack and approve the Toolspoke app. For a private channel, add the Toolspoke bot to it first.
Step 5: Set the channel and timezone
Name the channel and your account's timezone in the instructions, and the conversion metric if it is not Placed Order.
Step 6: Switch on the schedule
The schedule arrives switched off. Run it once to see a message, then switch it on.
Make Email campaign report fit your programme
Email campaign report's instructions are plain English and you can edit them after you install it. Installing copies the agent, so your edits stay with your copy. Open the agent in Toolspoke and tell the builder what to change, and it rewrites the instructions.
Paste any sentence below into the builder chat, or say the same thing in your own words.
Also report SMS campaigns sent last week, in a separate section.
Flag spam complaints at or above 0.08%.
Do not report open rates. Use clicks as the main measure.
List every live flow, not only the top five.
Run on Tuesdays at 9 AM instead.
This changes when the agent wakes up, so the builder edits its schedule, not the instructions.
None of these edits needs more access or touches the Never rules. They change what Email campaign report is told, not what the connections allow.
How it compares to other options
Email campaign report beats the alternatives when you want last week's results with a baseline and deliverability warnings in Slack. It loses to them when you want to dig into a single campaign.
| Compared on | Email campaign report | Klaviyo's own reports | A Looker Studio dashboard | A weekly spreadsheet |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arrives without anyone opening a tool | Yes, in Slack | Scheduled email reports | No | No |
| Compares with a baseline | Yes, four-week average | Some reports | If you build it | If you build it |
| Flags deliverability signs | Yes, first | Deliverability hub | If you build it | If you look |
| Campaigns and flows together | Yes | Separate views | Yes | If you add both |
| Can send a campaign | No, the connector cannot | Yes | No | No |
| Drill into one campaign | No | Yes | Yes | Partly |
| Setup effort | Connect two accounts | None | A connector and a build | An hour a week |
Klaviyo's own reports are the better choice when you want to look at one campaign closely, such as its links, segments or A/B test. This agent summarises the week, not each send in depth.
A dashboard is better when many people want to explore the numbers at any time. It takes building and someone has to open it.
Frequently asked questions
Can Email campaign report send a campaign?
No. The Klaviyo connector has no action that sends, schedules or cancels a campaign, so the connection cannot send email. The agent is also told never to.
What does it change in Klaviyo?
Nothing. The one write the Klaviyo connection has is creating or updating a profile, and the agent is told never to. For a lock, switch that action off in your project or use a read-only private key (how access works).
Does it post subscriber emails to Slack?
No. It reads Klaviyo's totals, not individual profiles, and is told never to post an email address, name or profile detail.
Why does it warn about open rates?
Mail privacy features, such as Apple's, open emails automatically, which inflates open rates. The post says so once, and click rates are the steadier measure.
What counts as a deliverability warning sign?
Spam complaints at or above 0.1%, bounces at or above 2%, unsubscribes at or above 0.5% on one campaign, or opens down by a third across the account.
Does it cover SMS?
Not as shipped. It reports email campaigns and flows. You can ask the builder to add SMS campaigns in a separate section.
Is Email campaign report free?
It has no price of its own, and every Toolspoke plan includes agents. Tool calls cost nothing, but each run draws on your usage balance. Pricing has the details.
